Biography

MSME 1950 - MIME

Art Hitsman was a 40+ year employee of Boeing, retiring in July 1993 from the presidency of Boeing Computer Services. Under Art' s direction, the division employed more than 13,000 employees and managed more than $1.4 billion worth of computing and telecommunications equipment. Prior to this appointment, he was executive vice president of Boeing Aerospace and Electronics, directing all of the Boeing strategic and tactical missile, space, and airborne information systems. Art earned both BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from OSU in 1949 and 1950, respectively. He has previously been recognized at OSU by receiving the OSU College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award in 1992 and the OSU Alumni Association Award in 1993.
